The Potential Dangers of the Swine Flu Vaccine

Are you afraid of the big bad swine flu, enough to consider getting a swine flu vaccine?

But before you make a rash decision, look at the facts:

On June 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised its swine flu pandemic alert to phase 6, the highest alert level. However, this only reflects the speed with which a virus is spreading, not its severity.

WHO considers the severity of the H1N1 virus to be moderate, meaning H1N1 flu is an illness which does not usually require hospitalization or even medical care.

After the WHO alert upgrade, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius urged school superintendents across the U.S.to prepare for the possibility of mass vaccination school children in the fall.

This pronouncement was contrary to her previous stance in May, when she admitted that the swine flu virus was not quite the fearsome plague it was widely reported to be.

There are reports that the Obama administration is prepared to spend an additional $1 billion to fast-track the development of an H1N1 vaccine.

This planned move is similar to the action the European Union (EU) is taking. The European Medicines Agency, the EU drug regulatory body, is speeding-up the approval process for the swine flu vaccine, allowing pharmaceutical companies to bypass large-scale human trials.

WHO has attacked the fast-tracking of the swine flu vaccine. “There are certain areas where you simply do not try to make any economies. One of the things which cannot be compromised is the safety of vaccines,” WHO chief Dr. Keiji Fukuda said.

Natural health expert Dr. Joseph Mercola agrees completely. Numerous studies have shown that flu shots DO NOT work.

According to the 2007 Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, flu vaccines reduced the risk of flu by only six percent and reduced missed work days by less than a single day, It did not, however, reduce the number of people who sought medical help or took time off from work.

The 2006 Cochrane Database also reviewed 64 vaccination studies of the elderly across nearly 100 flu seasons. These studies showed that flu shots were ineffective in preventing the flu in either nursing home patients or among the elderly population in the community.

Research published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine also confirms that despite an increase in vaccination coverage among the elderly from 15 percent in 1980 to 65 percent at present, there has been no decrease in deaths from influenza and pneumonia.

Dr. Mercola points out that most cases of severe and fatal swine flu infections have occurred in people above the age of 30, with many of those affected already suffering from conditions like asthma, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and obesity.

What’s the point then, of mass vaccinating American kids?

Going back to the 2006 Cochrane Database, 51 separate studies concluded that the flu vaccine worked no better than a placebo in 260,000 children ranging in age from six months to 23 months.

A study published in the October 2008 Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine also showed that flu shots in young children have not decreased the number of flu-related doctor and hospital visits.

Mercola warns that flu vaccine ingredients may be more dangerous than the flu itself because aside from using a particular virus strain, flu shots contain dangerous substances such as mercury, antifreeze, formaldehyde, phenol, aluminum, detergent, resin, egg proteins and polysorbate 80.

Don’t kid yourself: flu shots are not health products. Would you be willing to inject yourself and your child with a brew of toxic chemicals?

Mandatory swine flu vaccination is a real possibility. Big Pharma (big pharmaceutical companies) is counting on this new flu shot to rake in millions, possibly billions, of dollars.
